Humble Beginnings
Since we already had the donut making equipment, we started doing indoor events so that we could buy a trailer for outside events. We bought a large trailer which we kitted out to enable us to do bigger events and to sell hot and cold drinks as well.
Nice and Cosy
Going forward, we decided the large trailer was too big for us so were able to sell and purchase a slightly small trailer. This was all kitted out and painted with new logos on it.
We used this slightly small trailer to go to lot of events all over the Lothians, Fife and the West where our donuts went down well.
SECC Foodie’s Festival
During the year 2017 we attended over 50 events at different venues. One of these events was at the SECC foodie’s festival. The organisers of some of these events contacted us in 2018 to attend again which we did and also attended in 2019.
Venues in and around where we are based in East Lothian introduced weekly and monthly markets and we attended these, a few in the kiosk, during 2018. We also attended firework displays and Christmas light switch-ons.
The New Purple
We managed to find a new trailer which we kitted out, and had our logos and name attached to this.
We started to use the new one from April when we attended large events such as Comic Con at Loch Lomond.
First Time at a Big Show
While we were doing an event, a customer informed us that he had a small kiosk for sale if we were interested.
We went to see the kiosk and decided to buy. This kiosk used to pitch at the west end Edinburgh.
Our First Trailer at Dunbar Harbour
We still used the small kiosk at some events due to space restrictions. From one of these small events we got a booking in 2017 to provide our donuts for part of the evening buffet at a wedding.
The parents provided some personnel paperware to celebrate their daughter’s wedding, and this along with our donuts went down well with the happy couple and their guests.
Introducing Mr Donut Man, aka Davy
We bought a large figurine, Mr Donut Man, aka Davy, which we display beside the trailer at some events. Children love to cuddle Davy and get their photo taken with him.
For 2019 we decided to change the colour of the large trailer to mostly red and add pictures of Davy as a logo. Unfortunately, after a few months the large trailer had to be retired.
Mr Donut Man Today
We also travelled to Sterling Mills with the kiosk to attend the new market on the last Saturday and Sunday of each month. We continue to attend galas and yearly events as in previous years and new events such as car rallies and vintage markets are so far, successful.
